TeachRite Reading Section for Praxis I and Other Basic Skills Tests
The Reading Section of TeachRite gives you everything you need to achieve passing scores on the reading section of your basic skills test. Since TeachRite was developed by teachers, we have a unique understanding of how students learn and an appreciation for all learning styles. Therefore the Reading Section starts with a useful study guide that is fully narrated not only to assist audio learners but to help keep all students engaged. State-of-the-art animated characters also aid in the learning process. At the end of the study guide you’ll be presented with useful tips for your actual test day.
Next, you’ll start answering practice questions in the powerful learning management system. Although some basic skills tests only include 4 answer choices on their exams, TeachRite features 5 answer choices for each multiple choice question. This helps prepare all students, regardless of their exact test. Each practice question includes feedback or remediation which will be presented after you answer it. This ensures you understand what’s right or wrong about each question. Soon, you’ll be taking questions in a timed final exam format, to help mimic what you’ll experience on your actual exam day.
Throughout the Reading Section you’ll have the chance to track your results and improve in any subtopic requiring extra practice. By the end of the reading section, you’ll be able to:
A. Recognize the main idea or primary purpose of a passage. B. Recognize a supporting idea or detail in a passage. C. Recognize how a particular vocabulary word or phrase is used in a passage. D. Recognize the organization of a passage. E. Draw an inference or implication from a passage. F. Evaluate supporting evidence – its relevance or appropriateness. G.
